Restaurant
Tables, orders at the table, kitchen and bar tickets, kitchen screen, bills.
What it does
Runs a restaurant or café floor: tables at a glance, orders taken at the table, tickets sent to the kitchen and bar (printed or on a kitchen screen), and GST bills that free the table.
Getting started
- Open Restaurant Settings and choose your business.
- Add your dishes as items in menu groups (for example Starters, Main Course, Beverages) with their prices. Use SAC 996331 for restaurant service.
- Add your Dining tables with their area and seats.
- Add Kitchen stations such as Kitchen and Bar, the menu groups each one makes, and its ticket printer if it has one (see Printers in the getting-started guide).
Everyday work
- Open Tables. Free tables are white, busy ones orange with their guests, time seated and running total. Tap a table to open its order, or press Takeaway.
- Add dishes with a note such as "less spicy", then press Send to kitchen. Each station gets a ticket with only the new dishes, on its printer and on the Kitchen screen.
- In the kitchen, press Ready on a ticket when it goes out. Tickets waiting 20 minutes or more are outlined in red.
- Press Bill to make the GST bill, take payment, and print the receipt with Quick print. The table is free again.
Good to know
- Once a dish is sent to the kitchen it cannot be reduced on the order: cancel it with the kitchen, so the bill and the kitchen agree.
- Restaurant GST is usually 5% without input tax credit: set up that tax template under your GST settings.
- A service charge cannot be added to bills automatically in India: under the consumer protection guidelines it must be voluntary.
